How DARE offers are made
LYIT will reserve a quota of places on each course on up to 30 reduced points for which eligible matriculated DARE applicants can compete. (Note that the allowance of a 30 point reduction is subject to first meeting the minimum entry requirements for the course. In the case of level 7 programmes, minimum entry requirements include the necessity to achieve a minimum of is 160 points. Applicants with fewer than 160 points will not be admitted to Level 7 programmes. However, where the standard cut-off for a Level 7 programme is 300 points, eligible DARE applicants may be admitted on 270 points.) Students who gain a college or university place through DARE also get a range of personal, academic and learning supports while they are studying at third level.
